He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Bowles and Viola Wilbur Bowles; his wife Byrnece Russell Bowles; and his sisters, Doris Watson, Frances Andrews and Paulette Bowles.

He is survived by: his daughters, Renee Dobbs (Rick) of Robinsonville, AR and Rushelle Hudson (Jeff) of Oxford, MS; his siblings, Jo Ann Williams of Germantown, TN and James "Buddy" Bowles of Germantown, TN; and his grandsons, Ryan Daniels, Adam Ragon and Austin Ragon.
