Jewel Stephen Obituary
Jewel Stephen transitioned peacefully in her home on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at the age of 35.
Jewel was born in New York and lived in Florida where she attended Hillsborough and Palm Beach County public schools. She graduated from Royal Palm School in Lantana in 2010. After graduation, she attended Exceptionalities Adult Day Training Center in West Palm Beach.
Jewel loved music. She would clap her hands to her favorite songs. She enjoyed looking outside her window at the sky and listening to the birds singing.
In addition to her love of music, Jewel had a deep love for her family. One of her most rewarding experiences was singing the song "As the deer" based on Psalm 42:1 with her aunt.
Jewel was an amazing young lady. Everyone who knew her grew fond of her. She had leadership qualities and was affectionately called "the supervisor" by her mom and sister who described Jewel as "sweet and spicy".
Jewel was predeceased by her grandfather Ivan Stephen, Sr., her grandparents Benjamin and Uldine Garrison, her uncle Clive (Shirley) Carrero, and her aunt Naomi Garrison Clark.
Jewel is survived by her: grandmother Estelle Stephen, father Ivan (Margalie) Stephen, Jr., mother S'rah Yisrael, siblings Benjamin (Tisha) Logan, Danielle Stephen, and Keanna Stephen, uncles Douglas (Ophal) Stephen, Gary (Avaleen) Stephen, aunts Lorrine Garrison Boyd, Barbara Stephen, Ann (Johnny Maza) Stephen-Maza, nephew Elyjah Logan, "adopted" siblings Miriam & Austin (Ashleigh) Bettis, and a host of loving cousins, extended family, and friends.
