It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Fred Nelson of Daytona Beach, Florida, born in High Point, North Carolina, who passed away on November 20, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Nelson and Elah Sapp Nelson; his wife Mildred Mitchell Nelson; his sisters, Betty Jo Johnson (Arnold Johnson) of High Point, Vivian Osborne (Bobby) of Sophia and Bonnie Brown (Bobby) of High Point; and his sister-in-law Ann L. Nelson of High Point.
He is survived by: his children, Bill Nelson of Daytona Beach, Fl Mitzi Howard (Randy) and Yon Nelson of Greensboro; his stepchildren, Linda Scheifflee of LaPeer, Jeff Presson (Waynette) of Kingston, Robert Bristow of Melbourne, Troy Terry of Lexington, Henny Dyer, Pam Glidewell (Phil) of Horneytown and Billy Mayo (Kim) of Winston-Salem; his siblings, Brenda Hedgecock (Mike) of High Point and Bobby Nelson (Lynn) of High Point; and his nephew Nelson Johnson of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
