He was predeceased by: his parent Jerry Buttillo; his stepmother Mary Buttillo (Russian); his former wife Barbara Buttillo (Lynch); and his siblings, Vincent Buttillo (Jimmy) and Louise Brachle (Buttillo).

He is survived by: his parent Lougia Buttillo (Stellato); his former wife Dolores; his wife Dolores Buttillo (Nelson); his children, Barbara Buttillo and Robert Buttillo; his stepchildren, John (Julie Nelson), Julie Ramos (Tony Cordo) and Jill Ramos (Nelson); his grandchildren, Erin, Rebecca, Samantha, Sean, Tori, Marina, Jacob, Joseph, Brody and Haley; his great grandchildren, Vincent, Lucy, Zeb, Scarlett and Lucas; and his sister Rose Marie Murphy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
