He was predeceased by: his sons, Steven Donald Chandler and Richard Clarence Chandler; and his siblings, Charles Monroe Chandler, Ernestine C. Parker, Irene Pernell, Nettie Jean and Mildred Chandler.
He is survived by: his wife Carroll Johnette Haynie Chandler; his sons, John Willis Chandler and Joel David Chandler; and his sisters, Anne Chandler Bowie and Carolyn Sumner. He is also survived by seven grandsons; two great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.
