He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Tate and Lula Parker Tate; and his siblings, Henry Louis Tate and Christeen Tate. He is survived by: his daughters, Estefania Tate and Aurea Tate; his grandchildren, Eitan Hernandez, Alessio Hernandez, Alivia Tate and Ace Darnell Newman; and his siblings, Bobby Joe Tate, Dennis Curtis Tate, Ida T. Haywood, Mary T. Gibbs, Marie T. Jefferies, Marietta Schenck (Ray) and Angela Gail Tate. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
