He was predeceased by: his parents, Delbert Coffman and Pearl Coffman. He is survived by: his wife Roberta; his sons, Sheldon Keith Jr. (Donna), Gregory Allen (Delana) and Duane Edward (Dawn); and his brothers, Jimmy and Darrell Coffman of Charleston. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and numerous step grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren.
