He was predeceased by: his parents, John Loy Groover and Juanita Clemons Carr; his stepfather Kenneth W. Carr; and his siblings, Jenell Sutton, Jerry Carr and Jeff Carr.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Henderson Groover; his children, Michelle Frye (Wayne), Steve Groover (Kara) and Jennifer Groover; his sisters, Janice MacFerran (Ernie) and Terrie Carr Edwards (Tom); and his grandchildren, Jacob Stewart, Kimberly Stewart, Garrett Groover, Samuel Rampersad, Cody Frye (Rebecca) and Melissa Franck (Ian).
