She was predeceased by: her parents, Cornelius Patrick and Effie Mary McCabe of San Antonio, FL.; her husband Nicholas S. Burns Jr.; her son James Kevin Burns; her grandson Nicholas Charles Burns; and her siblings, Richard McCabe, Patricia Reynolds and Effie Finora.
She is survived by: her children, Nicholas Patrick Burns (Judy) of Franklin, TN and Sarah Ellen Burns; her stepchildren, Laurie Counihan Brown (Doug) of Buffalo, NY, Neita Counihan Peterson, Scott Counihan and Virginia Beach; and her siblings, Cornelius "Mac" (BJ) and Eileen Diez Watson. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations, be made in her memory to the Benedictine Sisters at Holy Name Monastery, or to her favorite charity, Operation Smile.
