It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melva Mikell of Dade City, Florida, born in Bradley, Florida, who passed away on November 5, 2021, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Iva Lucena Purdy Atanasoff and John Atanasoff. She is survived by: her siblings, John V. Atanasoff, Theo Atanasoff, Raymond Atanasoff, Irving Atanasoff, Ethelyn A. Jernigan, Margaret A. Lingerfelt and Avis A. Tucker (H. C.) of Brooksville; her children, Robert C. Mikell (Beatrice) of Topeka, KS, Kimberly M. Freeman (Matt) of Owensboro, KY and Annette M. Hood (Jack) of Ferguson, N. C.; her grandchildren, Patrick Hood (Michele), Ernie Wagner (Jamie), Daniel Hood (Jackie), Lori Cagle (David), Kristen McGinnis and Erica Anglin; and her great grandchildren, Jake Hood, Katie Hood, Logan Hood, Makenna Hood, Ian Wagner, Maddie Wagner, Ambrose Wagner, Sophia Cagle, Will Cagle, Brendan Rhoades, Kaleb Anglin, Maddie Anglin and Henry Watson.
