He was predeceased by: his parents, Warren Burton and Anella Burton; his former wife Joanne (Leifheit); and his brothers, Wilbur, Merle, Wayne, Gene, Jerry and Raymond.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Ann Brand; his stepson James R. Albritton III (Cyndie); his grandchildren, Ross and Mary; his siblings, Kenneth (Judy) and Ruth Ann; his children, John and Julianne; and his grandson Andrew Burton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
