He is survived by: his wife Lauri Leahy Chavez; the mother of his children Carolyn Chavez; his children, Christina DeFouw (Thomas), Diana Letsch, Barbara Olson, Del Chavez (Laura) and Steven Chavez; his grandchildren, Michael Letsch, Michelle Kruszewski (Reid), Christopher Olson, Victor Olson, Maria Chavez, Anthony Chavez, Thomas Chavez and Georgia Chavez; and his great grandchild Brooke Kruszewski.
