He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Surratt and Wyline Surratt. He is survived by: his spouse Gail Lindsay; his children, David and Susan; his daughter-in-law Sonya; his grandsons-in-law, Dawson, Spencer, Landon and Caden Surratt; his son-in-law Alan; his grandchildren-in-law, Joshua and Lauren Jenkins; and his siblings, Sam, Ted, Lewis, Dolly, Mitzie, Kenny, Cissie, Bobby, Terry, Terrell, Mark, Marci and Keith. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Dade City (37511 Church Ave, Dade City, FL 33525). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel Hill Gardens (11531 US-301, Dade City, FL 33525).

He would have appreciated his life being honored by providing donations to Breakaway Ministries in Gadsden, Alabama, the Vision 24 Building Fund (Discover Fellowship Church), and to Hernando Pasco Hospice.
