He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Helms; his children, Kylene Falkenburg (Jimmy) and Jared Helms; and his brothers, John Michael Helms (Dolly) and Jeffrey A. Helms.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Citrus County Animal Shelter.
