He was predeceased by: his parents, Earnest Barker and Donna Barker (Gordon); and his grandparents, Lawrence, Wilda Gordon, Woodrow and Dorothy Barker.
He is survived by: his siblings, Jonathan Andrew Barker (Lisa) of Commiskey, David Lee Barker of Commiskey, Ruth Thomas (Sherman) of Bedford and Donna Barker of Florence, Kentucky; his nieces and nephews, Seth Thomas, Eli Thomas, Cora Thomas, Kaylee Lesnet (Justin), Ki Roberts, Charlie Roberts and Jerry Roberts; and his great-niece Peyton Lesnet. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Memorials may be made in honor of James through the funeral home to Coffee Creek Christian Cemetery Fund.
