After lettering in football in High School, BJ graduated in 1958, he served as a jet mechanic in the Marine Corps on the aircraft carrier Coral Sea, which was deployed to Japan and the Philippines.
In 1960, on August 2nd, he married Lucy Anna Brown in a garden in Kailua Oahu, Hawaii by torchlight.
After BJ’s service in the Marines, he worked as a retail-wholesale salesman in mike distribution. He earned awards in sales for several years in Michigan, New York, and North Carolina.
While in North Carolina, BJ Morris built a log cabin by hand with the help of his wife and son, Shawn Morris. BJ and his wife, Lucy lived happily in the cabin for several years.
BJ and his wife then moved to Florida, where he became a golf-cart distributor. BJ worked for golf clubs all over Florida.
BJ also continued his service for his country in the National Guard. During his service, he was deployed to the Miami Riots and to New York to a prison for a prison guard strike.
Years later, BJ retired to Dunnellon, Florida, until his death. BJ is survived by his wife Lucy, his children, Roy Morris, his spouse, Priscilla Morris, Gwen Ann Jolley (Morris), her spouse, Gordon Jolley, Wendy Sue Hansen (Morris), Shawn Byron Morris, eight grandchildren, Jedediah Morris, his spouse, Jessica Morris, Daniel Morris, his spouse, Jordan Morris and David Morris, Rachel (Jolley) Brandon, her spouse, Rick Brandon, Andrew Hansen, his spouse, Gabrielle Hansen, Jonathan, Jessica, and Shawn Douglas Morris, and three great-grandchildren, Mason Gray Brandon, Bailey Mai-Yan Morris, Abel Hansen.
As a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he will be missed and kept in our hearts until we all meet again with JESUS in Heaven. AMEN.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, April 15th 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Barge Canal / The Gulf (10247 N Suncoast Blvd, Crystal River, FL 34428).
