He was predeceased by: his parents, Gladys Chavous and Samual Calhoun Chavous; and his brothers, Joseph P. Chavous and Samual C. Chavous Jr.. He is survived by: his siblings, James R. Chavous of Old Town, FL. and Linda Davis (Jim Davis) of Peterman, AL.; his sister-in-law Nancy Chavous of Orange County, CA.; the mother of his children Linda Futch of Old Town, FL.; and his children, Ella Chavous of Kaiserslautern, Germany, Richard Jerry Chavous Jr. of Old Town, FL., Joanna Mallory (Shane) of Chiefland, FL. and Kathleen Chavous of Fanning Springs, FL.. He is also survived by six grandchildren whom he loved dearly, many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 26th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home Cross City Chapel (16984 SE Hwy 19, Cross City, FL 32628).
