He was predeceased by: his parents, Barnett Matthew and Leethey Virginia Brunson (Sylvia); and his siblings, Howard Brunson, Hazel Mayo, Beatrice Cosson and Corena Lanier.

He is survived by: his sister Judy Griffith; his daughters, Cindy Egan (Joe) and Kathy Ray (Tim); and his granddaughter Nicole Ray.
