He was predeceased by: his parents, John Garrett and Margaret Garrett; his wife Olive Garrett; and his siblings, Carl, John Garrett and Olivia Goodhart.

He is survived by: his daughters, Margaret Gai Williams (Danny) and Debbie Pangle (Gary); his sister-in-law Annette Holland Garrett; his grandchildren, Josh (Michele), Justin (Ale), Andrew and Emily (Jay); his great grandchildren, Maddy, Anna, Laken, Crosby and Lucianna Marie; and his close friend Yvonne Steele.
