He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Newell and Myrtle Newell. He is survived by: his wife Rena Newell; his children, Tonya Terrebone (Blake), Ronald "Chip" H. Newell, John D. Kennedy (Jan) and Stacey Franklin (Michael); and his siblings, Harry, Robert, William, Theresa Jernigan, Margaret Newell, Beverly Adamson, Barbara Yokley and Susan Logan. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
