It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lavon Settles of Crestview, Florida, born in New Brockton, Alabama, who passed away on September 5, 2020, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ardelia Coleman Garney and Ray Garney; her husband Douglas Settles; and her brothers, Randolph and Wesley Garney.
She is survived by: her children, Nancy Ann Brewer of Linwood, NC, Linda Sue Bass of Crestview, FL, Nila Settles (Renee) of Laurel Hill, FL, John Ray Settles and Emily Jane Peacock of Crestview, FL; and her brother Elza Garney. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Lavon has requested donations to be made to Airport Road Church of Christ in support of the Mount Dora Children's Home.
