He was predeceased by: his son Tomas Allan Smith; his parents, Herbert Hoover Smith and Barbara Ann Crews; his stepfather Harold Crews; his half-brother David Crews; his parents-in-law, John Henry Phillips and Dorothy Mae Phillips; and his grandson Troy Alexander Gardner.
He is survived by: his wife Thesa Phillips Smith of Crestview, Florida; his children, Laura Smith Gardner (Heath Gardner) of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Scott Smith (Christina Smith) of Cumming, Georgia and Beth Smith of Orlando, Florida.; his grandchildren, Megan Gardner, Jonathan Gardner, Audrey Gardner, Victoria Gardner, Hayden Smith and Skyler Smith; and his great grandchild Hudson Martin-Smith. He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Immanuel Baptist Church (216 College Ave, Panama City, FL 32401). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Parker Cemetery.
