He was predeceased by: his parents, Estelle Kirkland and Ivy Kirkland; his son Micky Kirkland; and his siblings, George Kirkland, Sybil Brooks, Ruth Harrell, Annie Riley, Jeanette Harlson and Betty Bright.
He is survived by: his wife Vera Helms Kirkland; his children, Janice Balte, Joy Park (Tom) and Richard Kirkland (Pam); and his sisters, Beth Kirkland Youngblood and Kathleen Kirkland Hutto. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren; many dear nieces and nephews; as well as many close friends.
