He was predeceased by: his sibling Carlyle; his uncle Julius; his son Maurice Hughes; and his son-in-law Matthew Lovell. He is survived by: his wife Lurena Knight of Crestview, Florida; his children, Anthony Hughes (Audrey) of DeFuniak Springs, Alex Knight (Janet) of Winter Haven, Florida, Dionne Ebisawa (Tomonori) of Lakeland, Florida and Michele Lovell of Lakeland, Florida; his grandchildren, Kamari Branch, Kai Hughes, Mary Jendrycki, Hannah Knight, Kali Knight, Elizabeth Ebisawa, Alexander Ebisawa and Abigail Lovell; his sisters, Lena Patterson of Syracuse and Bertha Meek of Hackensack; his siblings-in-law, Delphine Flenaugh (Clem) of Crestview, Florida, Starretha Bean of Crestview, Florida, Reverend Clarence Coleman of Kentucky, Reverend Johnny M. Hendrix of Allenhurst and Jessie Hendrix (Sylvia) of Crestview, Florida; and also, Jenkins Knight of Missouri, Reverend and Robert S. Gray. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
