He is survived by: his parent Clara Short (Keeton); his spouse Ruby Short (Burke); his son John Edward Short of Crescent City; his sisters, Betty Slayers (Leonard) of Ashland, Delores Franklin of Flatwoods and Joan Dearman of DeGraff; his daughters-in-law, Lori Short of Huntsville and Angie Short of DeGraff; his grandchildren, Ronnie Short II of DeGraff, Alan Smith (Mindy) of DeGraff, Douglas Smith of DeGraff, Joshua Short (Diane) of Quincy and Natasha Hamby (Steve) of Haines City; his great grandchildren, Aubrey Short, Andan Short, Addison Short, Courtnie Smith, Dylan Smith, Carson Copas, Jonathan Short, Layne Short, Landon Hamby and Grayson Hamby; his stepgranddaughter Andrea Schmidt (Mike); and his stepgreat-grandchildren, John, Katy, Jessica, Caleb, Austin, Gabrielle, Annika and Vaughn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
