He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Leslie Wilbur Powell, Sr. and Nannie Laura Barker Powell; his brother Leslie Wilbur Powell, Jr.; his wife Mary Ellen Nichols Powell; his children, Leslie Powell, Will Powell (Leigh) and Barker Powell (Dana); his grandchildren, Jessica Powell, Ethan Powell, Nolen Powell and Keira Powell; and his siblings, James Powell (Mary) and LaVerne Zolkosky (Vince). He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
A service to commemorate and celebrate his life is 3:00 PM, Friday, March 19, 2021, at Abbey Funeral Home; face masks and social distancing required.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
