It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William David Powell of Crawfordville, Florida, born in Monticello, Florida, who passed away on March 15, 2021, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Leslie Wilbur Powell, Sr. and Nannie Laura Barker Powell; his brother Leslie Wilbur Powell, Jr.; his wife Mary Ellen Nichols Powell; his children, Leslie Powell, Will Powell (Leigh) and Barker Powell (Dana); his grandchildren, Jessica Powell, Ethan Powell, Nolen Powell and Keira Powell; and his siblings, James Powell (Mary) and LaVerne Zolkosky (Vince). He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.

A service to commemorate and celebrate his life is 3:00 PM, Friday, March 19, 2021, at Abbey Funeral Home; face masks and social distancing required.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
