She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvin Simpson and Eunice Simpson; her husband Stanley Davis "David" Hurst, Sr.; her daughter Jo Ann Huff; and her brother-in-law Rex Davie.
She is survived by: her children, Stanley "Sonny" Hurst (Sharon), Reverend Dewayne Hurst (Kim), Stacy Hurst Green (Wesley) and Zylphia Meredith (Jason); her grandchildren, Michael Huff (Emily), Alex Huff (Emily), Ansley Hurst, Braxton Hurst, James Green, Wesley Green, Jr. (Kiley), Tanner Green, Leaton Green, Sloan Green, Sadie Green, Kaya Meredith and Madyson Meredith; and her siblings, Doris Davie, Kaye Bender (Cal), Buddy Simpson, Alda Cooper (Bill), Kathy Maiacco (Mike), Bill Simpson and Michelle Simpson. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
