She was predeceased by: her parents, John Henry and Nursie Whaley Ashmore; her husband Emmett Clarence Ferrell, Jr.; her son-in-law Charles Barwick; and her grandsons, Ferrell Barwick and Shay Barwick.
She is survived by: her children, Elise Barwick and Emmett C. "Bucky" Ferrell, III (Teressa); her grandchildren, Parrish Barwick (Suzanne), Allison Ferrell, Elizabeth Vaughn (Max) and Emily McGowin (Rob); her great grandchildren, Thomas Shay Barwick, II (Courtney), Sloan Wallace (Dylan), Adeline Vaughn, Max Jr. Vaughn, Crawford Vaughn, Lucy McGowin, Parker McGowin, Mattie Elise Farnworth (Derek) and Gabriel Barwick; and her great great grandchild Frankie Wallace.
