He was predeceased by: his parents, Isaiah Strickland and Epsie Strickland; and his siblings, Raymond, Roland, Bobby, Leroy, Leaston, Jimmy and Maxine Allen.
He is survived by: his wife Evon McKenzie Strickland; his children, Doug Strickland (Sonja), David Strickland (Tammy) and Deana Metcalf (Tim); his grandchildren, Kasey Strickland, Caleb Strickland, Hannah Strickland, Bailey Metcalf, Mason Metcalf and Cade Metcalf; and his siblings, Fred Strickland (Annette) and Geraldine White. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
