He was predeceased by: his father Charles Alexander Johnson, Sr.; his aunts and uncles, Paul Johnson, Leroy Johnson, Eugene Johnson, Yvonne Allen and Willie Mae Rosier; and his cousins, John Lee Bryant and Katina Harvey.

He is survived by: his wife Billie Jo Roddenberry; his mother Gwendolyn Bryant; his children, Alexander J. Johnson and Jessie Lynn Johnson; his sister Tina Bryant; and his aunts, Lora Johnson and Lette Johnson. He is also survived by many nieces & nephews.
