He was predeceased by: his former wife Mary Hodges; his sister Faye Marie Perkins; and his nephew Tim Perkins. He is survived by: his wife Lannie Hodges of Cottondale; his children, Wendell Ray Hodges, Jr. and Sandra G. Carroll; his siblings, Douglas Wayne Hodges and Pearlie M. Smith; his siblings-in-law, Charles Herman Merchant and Becky Null; and his uncle Jake Hersey. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces.
