He was predeceased by: his parents, Joel A Nelson and Annie Merle Gainer Nelson; and his brother Dennis Nelson. He is survived by: his brother Joel F. Nelson (Shirley) of Freeport, FL; his sister-in-law Jean Nelson of Gulf Breeze, FL; his nieces and nephews, Amber Green (Charles), LtCol Casey Nelson and Rachel Bunch (Bradley); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Addison Green, George Nelson, Yuuki Nelson and Nina Nelson; and his caregiver Terisa Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated in memory of Joe to the Peregrine Fund at The World Center for Birds of Prey, 5668 West Flying Hawk Lane, Boise, Idaho 83709.
