He was predeceased by: his wife Apolonia Hofer; his son Julian Hofer; his parents, Franz Hofer and Maria Kepplinger; and his siblings, Franz, Maximilian and Maria Barth.
He is survived by: his son Franz Hofer (Donna); his daughter-in-law Carol Winn Hofer; his grandchildren, Christina (Angelo), Caitlyn (Nicholas), Cristin (Noy) and Josef (Jess); his great grandchild Olivia; his siblings, Josef (Marianna) and Mathilde Kapfer; and his sister-in-law Erika Hofer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
