He was predeceased by: his wife Josephina; and his son Alvaro Jr.. He is survived by: his parents, Manuel Antonio Cadenas Aguilera and Angela Marianna Adan; and his siblings, Manolo Cadenas and Ana Maria Diaz Cadenas. He is also survived by 7 nieces & nephews, and 13 grand nieces.
