He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Nelson and Teresa Nelson; and his wife Marilyn. He is survived by: his children, Deborah Walker (Ron), Terri Wells (John) and John Nelson (Virginia); his grandchildren, Clint Wells, Eric Wells, Tamilyn Tonelli, Jennifer Miller, Bryan Walker, Megan Labarge and Courtney Cochrane; and his great grandchildren, Jaxson, Kristie, Allie, Logan, Luke, Brayden, Presley, Kayden and Cameron.

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care (1600 N University Dr, Pembroke Pines, FL 33024). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Taft Street Baptist Church (7241 Taft St, Hollywood, FL 33024). A burial was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Vista Memorial Gardens Cemetery (14200 NW 57th Ave, Miami Lakes, FL 33014).
