He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Daniel Johnson Sr. and Estella Mae Johnson; his siblings, Ralph D. Johnson Jr., Betty Hawkins and Sandra Perkins; his nephew Randy Johnson; and his great-nephew Curtis Patrick Johnson.
He is survived by: his former wife Mary Louise Wilson; his son James W. Johnson II (Coconut Creek); his former wife Barbara Ann Dawson; his son Curtis Patrick Johnson; his nephews, Danny Johnson (Cindy) and Terry Johnson (Alabama); and his niece Rebecca Williams (Tennessee).
