He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold McVey and Gloria McVey (Spencer); and his daughter Nicole McVey. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Anderson (Beth); his former wife Beth Adams; his son Matt McVey (Sarah); his siblings, Randy McVey (Lynn), Ken McVey Port Charlotte (Cindy), Debbie McVey and Tammy Bishop (Russ); his grandchildren, Britney McVey, Kylar Gates, Garrett Starr, Wyatt Starr, Waylon Starr, Carlos Preciado, Xavier Preciado and Mason McVey; and also, Stephanie Gates (Logan) and Brooke Starr (Jerry).

A celebration of life will be planned at a later date for the Quad Cities following the COVID restrictions and guidelines being lifted.
