He was predeceased by: his daughter Julie McCoy Hill; his brother William "Bill" A. McCoy, Jr.; and his parents, William, Sr. McCoy and Virginia McCoy. He is survived by: his wife Marcia McCoy; his son-in-law Erthel Hill; his grandson Evan Hill; and his pets, Izzy and Smokey. He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to Southeast Guide Dogs or Humane Society of Pinellas County.
