He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony P. Schmidt and Frances Schmidt (Bellm) of Carlinville; his former wife Thelma Logan; and his sister Rosemary Pankratz. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Barr; his son-in-law Len Thacker Jr.; his great great grandchildren, Noah Brown and Kelby Garner; his children, Mary Brown (Ron) of Nashville, IL, Ruth Wilton (Ron) of Carlinville, Nancy Shade (Norman) of Chesterfield, IL, Carol Rivers (Billy) of Bolton, MS, Sandra Thacker of Carlinville, Clara Hicks of Citrus Springs, FL and Robert T Schmidt (Lori) of Ocala, FL; his granddaughter Heather Fritz; and his siblings, Rev. Carl Schmidt of Effingham, IL, Joseph Schmidt of Quincy, IL and Virginia Drew of Quincy, IL. He is also survived by 42 great grandchildren; and 15 great-great grandchildren.
