He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Joyner and Genola Griffin Joyner; his siblings, Charles Joyner, Clifford Joyner, John Wesley Joyner, Clevis Joyner, Nellie Anderson and Tressie Mae Griffin; and his great grandchild John Allen Watson.
He is survived by: his sons, Steve Joyner (Barbara) of Chipley and Tim W. Joyner (Tracy) of Chipley, Florida; his sister Edna Ogborne of Chipley, Florida; his grandchild Marcey Watson (Travis); and his great grandchild Ashton Watson.
