Randy Lawn Obituary
Randy Lawn, 64, of Chiefland, Florida passed away on January 30, 2024. He was born on June 17, 1959 to his late parents, Kenneth Lawn and Dolores Lawniczak in LaGrange, Illinois.
Randy was self-employed for 15 years doing home improvements and building in the Chicagoland area. He retired from the Village of Oak Brook, Illinois working in the streets department and maintenance. Randy also worked as a Supervisor in highway maintenance for the Florida Department of Transportation. He was a skilled builder, handyman and mechanic. He could fix anything and everything; indoors, outdoors and mechanical. He had a 69 Camaro and a 66 Chevelle that he restored and inherited from his brother Gary. He passed his handyman knowledge to his sons.
Randy was a hands on teacher teaching his sons practical skills that would serve them as they grew up. He volunteered as a Boy Scout leader to support his children's activities and bond with them. He built his daughter a custom barbie house and was an awesome grandfather. Randy also took delight in making others happy. Randy was always willing to help and would drop everything to help out a family member or friend. He was friendly, selfless and fun-loving. Randy showed his love through his actions with cooking, building and repairing things. He also loved his dogs along with cookies, Crown Royal, Frank Zappa, and bold, bright, vibrant and unique colors. Randy's favorite saying was "Have a sparkly day!".
Randy is survived by his wife, Cynthia "Cindy" Lawn; his sons, Brandon Lawn, Rob Covarrubias, Julian Lawn and John Lawn; his daughter, Tara (Chris) Hardman; his brothers, Jimmy (Teri) Lawn, Jeff (Fawn) Lawn; his sister, Karen Kirchner; his seven grandchildren, Lindsay Hardman, Natalie Hardman, Hayley Lawn, Brayden Lawn, Robbie Covarrubias, Jr., Madalynn Lawn and Mason Lawn along with his many nieces and nephews.
Randy is preceded in death by his brother, Gary Lawn and brother in law, Jim.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 24, 2024 at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home Chiefland Chapel at 1301 N. Young Blvd. Chiefland, Florida 32626 with Father Harold Ritchie officiating.
