We are sad to announce that on September 27, 2023, at the age of 92, Margaret Wimberly Hiers of Chiefland, Florida, born in Gainesville, Florida passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Ellis and Allie Mae Cannon Wimberly; her husband John D. "Bud" Hiers, Jr.; her siblings, Lulu Mae Dortch and Marty Wimberly; and her son-in-law Howell E. Lancaster, Jr..
She is survived by: her daughters, Sylvia D. Hiers (Robbie Emmons) and Sheree H. Lancaster of Trenton; her siblings, Sam Wimberly (Bonnie) and Charlotte Hancock of Palatka; and her grandchildren, Deen Lancaster (Lena) of Trenton, Trip Lancaster (Leah) of Fanning Springs, Clint Emmons, Chris Emmons and Beth Emmons. She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tri-Counties Hospice Care Center, 311 N.E. 9th Street Chiefland, Florida 32626, with Margaret Hiers on the memo line.
