He is survived by: his children, Janice Helms and Walt Stephens (Shannon); his siblings, Janie Jacobs, Robert Stephens (Diana) and Earl Stephens (Alison); his grandchildren, Abigail Wariner, Sydney Stephens, Troy Laurimore, Chase Helms and Grayson Stephens; and his stepgrandchildren, Charissa Morris, Zack Morris and Wyatt Acker.
