Michael Wayne Grogan Obituary
Dr. Michael Wayne Grogan, age 75, passed away the morning of April 19, 2022 at his home in Cape Coral, Florida. Dr. Grogan, born in 1947 to Ruby (Bevel) and William Grogan, always said his family's motto was "Anything worth doing is worth overdoing.". He certainly exemplified that.
Dr. Grogan, has been in ministry for over 50 years. He has preached diligently a message of love and salvation through the years. When he wasn't preaching, he was a mental health therapist, working to help bring a message of hope and love to individuals, couples, and families alike. Additionally, he shared his knowledge and wisdom with future marriage & family therapists at Southeastern University, where he taught for 10 years in the Master's program.
Believe it or not, that didn't fill all his time. He would also venture with his wife of 56 years, Fran (Pierpoint) Grogan, out west to explore national parks and nature. Wyoming was a particular favorite. Michael met Fran at a Cleveland Indians home game in 1964. Every year since, they attended, watched or listened to every game they could together. As if all of these above weren't enough, Michael was an exceptional father, an award-winning grandfather, and a newly-crowned great-grandfather.
People who knew him would say he inspired them to be better. He encouraged the people he talked to, worked with, and met to empathize, love, and be their best selves. He was a channel of God's love to all those around him. He will be greatly missed! Michael's. Celebration of Life will be held in June.
Donations are welcome for our friends at Grace Church, Cape Coral as they also share Michael's message of love and hope to our community.
