He was predeceased by: his parents, John Friel Comer and Mabel Bartlett Comer; and his brother Robert Comer. He is survived by: his wife Betty Ruth Barrow Comer; his brother Ronald Comer (Leathe) of Newark, DE; his children, Donna Comer of Albert Lea, MN and Thomas Comer of Warrensville, NC.; his granddaughters, Heather Scarpitti (Colin) of St. Petersburg, FL and Clarissa Rivera; and his great grandchildren, Aivin Edward Dennard and Zeanna Jae Dennard of Albert Lea, MN. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
