He was predeceased by: his parents, Chan Harvell and Evelyn Harvell; and his siblings, Doris Taylor, Randy, Larry and Kenneth Harvell.

He is survived by: his wife Rhonda Ross; his sons, Darrell W. Harvell (Tracey) and Ronnie L. Harvell (Ivy); his nieces, Karla, Tashia and Cindy; his brother-in-law Albert Taylor; and his friend Butch Waters. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews.
