He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Akers and Mallie Akers. He is survived by: his wife Karen Akers; his daughter Ashley Liane Akers; and his sisters, Ellen Woodfin (Steve), Peggy Akers and Teresa Foret (Dwight). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, in-laws, and many beloved friends.
