He was predeceased by: his grandfathers, Howard Wayne Penton and Thornwell Frank Rush. He is survived by: his parents, Howard Wayne Penton, Jr. and Rebecca Elizabeth Penton (Rush); his brother Jackson Rush Penton; his grandmothers, Elaine Connell Penton and Ann Warren Rush; his cousins, David Jayce Boyd, Matthew Warren Rush, Robert Kemp Wilson IV, Benjamin Michael Fulton and Sawyer Bailey Smith; and also Jackson. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Trace loved animals, and in lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Pensacola Humane Society.
