He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard I. Boling and Willie Pearl Boling (Brantley); his siblings, Olene Gandy, Vermele Gillispie, Joyce Bourgholtzer and Leroy Boling; and his son-in-law Rev. Benny Abbott.
He is survived by: his wife Johnnie Lou Boling; his daughters, Cheryl Smith (Billy), Pamela Pitts and Donna Abbott (James Mack); his grandchildren, Carrie Smith Thornton (Jonathan), Eric Smith, Emily Smith, Craig Pitts (Tori), Christy Swing (Kelvin), Jonathan Abbott and Lauren Abbott; his great grandchildren, Claire, Thomas, Marion Thornton, Caleb, Caroline Pitts, Kelvin, Jr., Cali Swing and Alyssa Hill; and his sister Carolyn Garcia. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
