He was predeceased by: his parents, Raliford Gainey and Thelma F. Thompson-Gainey; and his siblings, Robert Ashier, William F. Gainey, Jackie H. Gainey and DeMaurice Gainey Harvey.
He is survived by: his wife Willie Nell Upshaw Gainey; his children, Ron Greg Upshaw (Rachel) of Pompano Beach, FL and Nickie Gainey Hannan of Yulee, FL; his grandchildren, Brandon Upshaw, Destiny Hannan, Jobe Hannan and Caleb Hannan; his sister Hilda Faye Gainey-Harvey of Macclenny, FL; and his niece Diana. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and friends.
